... It's a DAMN GOOD thing I have so much free time. Well, my workout was VERY MUCH the same today:

... It's a DAMN GOOD thing I have so much free time. Well, my workout was VERY MUCH the same today:
AAALMOST everything remained the STATUS QUO with/in my workout.
(Thanks to my T.B.I., I NEEEEED rituals/routine.)
Only, my trainer TRIIIED to pull a fast one on me by switching up the order. I still performed all my usual & required techniques. They were merely in a new sequence. They were as follows:
... Tonight's blog is LESS about my PHYSICAL rehabilitation & MORE about SOCIAL interactions.
My brother is [only TEMPORARILY] in town, so I thought I'd host a lil' get-together for some of both his friends & my mom's friends.
(There were at least ... ~22 attendants--including children.)
(I mean, whether I know/like ALL the guests is IR-relevant. I HAVE the real estate.)
...
Well, LOOOOOONG story SHORT, this party was AWESOME!
I've gotta give my BROzeph credit for keepin' everything LIVELY & HAPPENIN'.
... Actually, it wasn't AAAAALL FUN & JOY, however.
UN-fortunately, my newEST CareGiver showed his [sorely UN-explicable] ignorance by NOT knowing how to transfer me from my wheelchair into my bed. But, thankfully, both my balance has DRAMATICALLY IM-proved, & I KNOOOOOW biophysics: I was able to lean my upper calves & lower thighs againsy my mattress enough to maintain enough stability to weather the storm of his DUMBASSedness.
WHEW!
...
--> First, I displayed several/UN-numbered finger-stretching exercises with my LEFT hand.
Next, I [finally] showed painLESS arm movements during my 20 LEFT armed hammer curls with a 10 pound dumbbell, 30 [+ 1] RIGHT armed bicep curls then 15 RIGHT armed hammer curls--both with a 15 pound dumbbell. I performed 10 isometric quadricep extensions--against my trainer's resistance--with my LEFT leg.
--> I explained to my trainer how I like to end each & every set--no matter the exercise:
On ONLY the very LAST repetition, I complete the movement very SLOOOOOWLY then hold the position at its peak.
Then, I proceeded to demonstrate this action on my 30th double legged hamstring curl, on my 20th RIGHT legged hamstring curl, on my 20th LEFT legged hamstring curl, on both 15th reps of my two sets of LEFT armed tricep extensions--with a 10 pound dumbbell, on both 15th reps of my two sets of RIGHT armed tricep extensions (first was 15 lbs then 10 lbs), on my 125*th HIPup (separated into 75 then 50) then, finally, on my 20th calf raise.
Just before this last [calf-] exercise, however, I proceeded to WALK along my parallel bars--one lap each forward, backward, forward, backward then sideways.
--> Finally, I BIKED outside for ~16 minutes.
* = TIES my PRE-injury record-HIGH
... But, that's actually GREAT news!
After dramatically stressing both my right elbow & my right upper forearm in a falling accident that injured my right [NOT so] funny bone, I'm FINALLY returning to [a HIGH fraction of] my former strength.
E.g. I demonstrated
-- 20 LEFT armed hammer curls
-- 30 RIGHT armed bicep curls
-- 17 RIGHT armed hammer curls + 3 WITH minimal assistance
-- LEFT shoulder stretches
-- 30 double hamstring curls, 20 RIGHT legged hamstring curls, 20 LEFT hamstring curls
-- 70 + 40 + 10 HIPups
-- 2 laps of FORWARD walking along parallel bars, 2 laps of BACKWARD walking along parallel bars, 1 lap of SIDEWAYS walking along parallel bars
-- 30 calf raises
-- ~16 minute BIKE ride partially around my community
Let's hear it for BIG stepS in my ongoing rehabilitation.
Hip-hip HOORAY!
Okay, I understand that electronics & technology DOOO occasionally SHORT-CIRCUIT &/or just shut OFF. But, do NOT LIIIIIE to me by making up some HORSE SHIT-excuse as to why my electricity's out AAAND some random COCKAMAMIE-estimate as to WHEN you'll have it fixed.
... That's what Comcast has been telling me ... EVERY SINGLE time! They told me they'd fix the line by "11:00 pm" last night. ALAS, my power JUST returned at ... ~12:30 pm today.
... F--K them!
Along with my successfully demonstrating a LARGE amount of progress in a HIGH # of beneficial exercises [( :) )],
1) I was pleasantly surprised to welcome back my MAIN nurse [EARLY] from her vacation,
&
2) I felt absolutely ZERO irritation [AAALL day] from my relatively new knee cushion.
Plus, I am making significant progress in writing my ... 19th book.
(now up to ... page 94)

I looked at my book sales this morning & felt a lil' melancholy.
As I haven't sold a single book in a lil' while, I though I'd reach out--figuratively/metaphorically.

My main nurse's & my trainer's GUESStimations regarding my therapeutic equipment (knee cushion, ankle braceS) have proven comfortably accurate. Noticing the aftereffects is less apparent to me, but all four of my CareGivers as well as my trainer have openly complimented me on my adjustmentS.
--> Not only have I dramatically INcreased the comfort I have/feel during my WALKING, but I have practically eliminated any DIScomfort I haD in my RIGHT elbow & upper forearm.
... During my biweekly 90 minute workout, I demonstrated
-- 20 LEFT armed rotary curls--WITH a 10 pound dumbbell
-- 10 RIGHT armed bicep curls--with a 10 pound dumbbell AAAND then immediately followed by 10 RIGHT armed bicep curls with a 15 pound dumbbell
-- 60 "HIPups" (a 20% improvement from last week's 50)
-- Two planks--the first one of ~15 seconds before I slipped & the second of 75 seconds
-- ~18 minute bike ride
P.S. I really do appreciate when & how my main nurse [of two] acts as both my & my mom's #2 to organize AAALL my employees' work schedules as well as MYYY personal therapeutic goings-on.
...
In my refreshingly productive workout today, I--very hesitantly & cautiously--demonstrated ...
my FULL/MAXIMUM 20 [LEFT armed] hammer curls w/ a 10 pound dumbbell,
[only a THIRD of my usual output of] RIGHT armed bicep curls (--> 10 repetitions w/ a 15 pound dumbbell),
another 10 RIGHT armed bicep curls w/ a 10 pound dumbbell,
my FULL/MAXIMUM 20 [RIGHT armed] hammer curls w/ a 10 pound dumbbell,
posed for a quick advertising video for my trainer as he taped me doing my 20-10-10 hamstring curls on my big plastic ball,
WALKED my standard four [forward & backward & one sideways] laps along my parallel bars,
just [UNsuccessfuly] TRIIIED how my planking position felt on my recently injured RIGHT elbow,
determinedly pedaled my way for an ~17 minute BIKE ride.
P.S. "Stop calling me 'Shirley'."

P.P.S. I just heard LOUD thunder & saw flashES of BRIGHT lightning. So, WHEEEW! Since it was NOT cloudy like this earlIER, I still got to go BIKING.
