...
Well, I checked into the hospital EXTRA early (@ ~11:10 am before my 1:00 pm appointment) in order to fill out any & all necessary paperwork for my procedure. Also, my PRE-punctuality allows the nurses more time to prepare the area in question (my lower abdomen & stomach), should the doctor decide upon the more HARDCORE process of switching my PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube. Innumerable PROPZ go to my [MAIN] personal nurse for reminding the doc of all my very unique nuances (e.g. severed pain-receptor nerves, extra LOOONG-lasting previous tube life, extreme IM-patience). Her listing somehow convinced the [GREAT] doc to select the lessER of two evils for my inevitable hell.
As the nurses made the final preparations for my procedure, the doc noticed the tube I was already wearing & commented,
"Oh, no! I didn't realize you've got this OLD model in there. This is REEEEEALLY gonna hurt!"
Uh oh.
Right after hearing the doctor's [emotionally] painful observation, I shut my eyes & IN-haled a deep breath as prep for the inevitably forthcoming pain. After not even TWO FULL seconds, I opened my eyes & murmured,
"Okay, Doc. I'm ready."
My doctor simply chuckled & responded,
"I already switched the tube."
WOWZA! I was home & in my BEFORE my initially scheduled procedure-time (~1:15 pm).
... This new tube is LESS cloudy :); much, MUCH shortER :(; LESS spatially awkward :) & less maneuverable :(.
